The concept of “solar energy storage, direct energy and flexible energy” was first proposed by Academician Jiang Yi [2]. The term “solar energy storage, direct energy and flexible energy” refers to the construction of a distributed solar photovoltaic power generation system in the building area, represented by solar photovoltaic panels on the roof of the building and variable surface photovoltaic panels on the building facade. In the future, it will not only be limited to photovoltaic energy, but can be expanded to refer to various renewable energy sources. “Storage” refers to the energy storage device in the building power supply system, which is not limited to the energy storage equipment inside the building, but also includes charging piles in nearby buildings. “Direct energy” refers to a DC power supply system that is simple in form, easy to control and has high transmission efficiency. “Flexible energy” refers to the building’s ability to generate electricity based on the clean energy. Flexible regulation of building electricity demand enables real-time matching of building electricity with clean energy generation (as shown in Figure 1). 'PV-storage-direct-flexible' buildings combine four technologies: photovoltaic power generation, distributed power storage, DC power supply system, and flexible control system, and superimpose and integrate them to achieve energy-saving and low-carbon operation of buildings (as shown in Figure 2). The promotion of 'PV-storage-direct-flexible' buildings meets the needs of national strategic development, can greatly reduce the energy consumption generated by thermal power generation during the operation phase of buildings, increase the use of renewable energy in buildings, and effectively reduce carbon emissions during the operation phase of buildings, while indirectly reducing residents' energy consumption costs.
